About EMCO Plumbing

Our Story

EMCO Plumbing was founded in 2006 by two Gas Safe registered engineers who had grown tired of working for companies that cut corners. The business started in Manchester with a handful of domestic clients and a simple promise: quote a fair price, send a qualified engineer, and stand behind every piece of work. Eighteen years later, that promise has not changed.

From those two engineers in a single city, EMCO Plumbing has grown into a national operation covering seven UK regions — from the North West through the Midlands, down to London and the South East. We now employ over twenty Gas Safe registered engineers, each based in their local area and each trained to the same standard we have always demanded.

Growth has never been the point in itself. We have turned down opportunities to expand faster than our quality could follow. Every engineer who joins EMCO Plumbing goes through a rigorous induction covering both technical competency and customer communication. We would rather complete fewer jobs and do them properly than scale at the expense of the work.

What We Do

EMCO Plumbing handles the full range of domestic and light commercial plumbing and heating work. Our most common services include boiler installation, boiler repair and annual servicing, central heating system installation and power flushing, bathroom installation, general plumbing, gas safety certificates for landlords, and 24/7 emergency callouts.

We are an accredited Worcester Bosch installer, which means we can offer extended manufacturer warranties of up to 10 years on Worcester Bosch boilers — something only accredited installers can provide. We also install Vaillant, Baxi, and Ideal boilers, and always recommend the model that is genuinely the best fit for the customer's home and heating requirements rather than defaulting to the most profitable option.

Our Engineers

Every engineer at EMCO Plumbing is individually Gas Safe registered. We do not use subcontractors to manage capacity spikes — if one of our engineers cannot take a job, we tell you honestly rather than send someone whose work we cannot vouch for.

Our engineers are required to undergo annual CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training to stay current with new boiler models, system designs, and the latest Gas Safe requirements. When a new boiler range comes to market, our installers are trained on it before they fit one in a customer's home.

We also invest in diagnostic equipment. Our engineers carry up-to-date combustion analysers, pressure gauges, and electronic leak detection tools. Good equipment does not replace experience, but it does mean a faster, more accurate diagnosis on every callout.

Our Commitment to Customers

Fixed prices are not a marketing phrase for us — they are a genuine commitment. We have always quoted a price before starting work and we have always honoured that quote. The only exceptions are jobs where hidden complications emerge during the work (such as discovering corroded pipework inside a wall during a bathroom refit), and in those cases we always stop, explain the situation, and let the customer decide how to proceed before any additional cost is incurred.

We issue Gas Safe certificates for every piece of gas work, Building Regulations notifications for boiler installations, and service records for every annual service. We believe customers deserve complete documentation for their property records — and landlords are legally required to have it.

Working with Landlords

EMCO Plumbing has built strong relationships with landlords and property management companies across every region we cover. We understand the specific pressures of managing a rental property: tenant disruption, legal compliance deadlines, and the need for reliable contractors who will actually turn up when scheduled.

For landlords with larger portfolios, we offer annual servicing agreements and portfolio pricing that reflects the volume of work. Gas safety certificates (CP12) are issued on the same day as the inspection and emailed directly to you.

Our Regional Partners

While EMCO Plumbing covers the UK nationally, we recognise that highly localised work sometimes benefits from engineers who know a specific area intimately. In those cases, we work with a small number of trusted regional specialist partners who share our standards for Gas Safe compliance and quality of work.

Our regional partners include specialist plumbing and heating companies in the South East who provide exceptional local coverage for customers in those areas.
